Volkswagen will reportedly launch three new R-branded models within the next year to join the popular Golf R.

Autobild reports that the carmaker is working on a T-Roc R, Tiguan R, and Arteon R. A host of Tiguan R prototypes have been spied testing recently but the T-Roc R and Arteon R are particularly exciting and sure to sell in reasonable numbers.

The German publication claims that the T-Roc R will utilize the same turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol engine as the Golf R and could in theory delivery an equal 310 hp. It is likely that the Tiguan R will also use this same engine in the same state of tune.

However, we’re still holding out hope that the Audi-sourced 400 hp 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine of the RS3 Sportback and Sedan could make its way into the SUV.

Unsurprisingly, it will be the large VW Arteon R that’s the most powerful of the trio. In fact, the company claimed last year that the vehicle will be capable of out-performing certain Porsche Panamera models and will use a turbocharged VR6 engine with in excess of 400 hp.

With its attractive exterior and interior designs, the Arteon is already an extremely appealing proposition. Give it even more power and it’s bound to become popular.
