2019MY Chevrolet Bolt To Get New Smartphone Interface And Colors

Being in production since Q4 2016, the Chevrolet Bolt is about to be updated for the 2019MY, Electrek reports after getting their hands on claimed dealer documentation.

The revisions are modest, though, and they include certain optional extras. One of them is called ‘Smartphone Interface’ and comes with a feature described as ‘vehicle entry, start and operation, and car sharing’.

On a side note, General Motors has already tapped into the car-sharing market with Maven. The company uses several hundreds of Bolts in its fleet, and one program allows San Diego residents to rent one for $229 per week and put it to work with Uber, Lyft, Roadie, Instacart and GrubHub.

Elsewhere, the 2019 Bolt will also welcome three new color options. These are called Green Mist Metallic, Slate Gray Metallic and Shock. The former is already available for the larger Volt EV, and the second one is used by GM on several other vehicles, but the quoted publication couldn’t find any reference of the latter shade.

No technical upgrades appear to have been performed across the Bolt lineup for the 2019MY, as the electric car still uses a 200hp (203PS / 150kW) and 266lb-ft (360Nm) of torque motor, and a 60kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

Officially, the zero-emission model needs less than 6.5 seconds to accelerate from naught to 60 mph (96 km/h), and can travel up to 238 miles (383 kilometers) in between charges, as certified by the EPA.
