Even though something like a Bentley Bentayga sure is more luxurious, if it’s exclusivity you crave, fitting your Porsche SUV with a body kit that very few people have is definitely one way to go.
Taking it all in, it almost seems as though this car belongs in something like the original RoboCop movie from 1987. This Tornado, seen in Monaco recently and captured on camera by car-spotter Jurrepruiksma, would fit right in next to everyone’s favorite cyborg police officer’s matte black Ford Taurus.
When they first launched the second-gen Tornado body kit, Gemballa explained how most of the car’s steel panels, as well as some plastic parts, were replaced by their carbon fiber equivalents, shaving some 70 kg (154 lbs) off the Cayenne’s curb weight.
Visually, the kit consists of a custom front bumper with large air intakes, vertical LED daytime running lights, wider wheel arches (overall width is now 2.05 m, or 81 inches), rounded tail-lights, four exhaust tips and massive 22-inch alloys.
Yet, there’s still a lot more to the Gemballa Tornado tuning package than meets the eye. For example, the German tuner wanted to achieve a 35-40% increase in power output, as well as 30% more torque. For this, they used custom turbochargers, larger intercoolers, a custom exhaust and an ECU tune.
Thus, power went up from 550 PS (542 HP) to 721 PS (711 HP), while torque rose from 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) to 955 Nm (704 lb-ft), resulting in a more competitive acceleration time of 4.1 seconds, down from 4.5 seconds when stock. Last, but not least, top speed also went up from 283 km/h (175 mph) to 310 km/h (192 mph).
