Barbie has had almost as many cars over the years as she’s had jobs. Not really, though. They’re all just dolls and toys. But if she were real, what would she drive?
In this day and age, probably an SUV. A pink one, if she were to stay true to herself. Something… like this? Maybe, if she left Ken and either went gangsta herself, or hitched up with one.
As you can see, it’s a Mercedes G-Class. The previous model, not the new one. Specifically the G500 4×4². That’s the one with the with the lifted suspension, portal axles, and nearly a foot and a half of ground clearance. Oh, and it’s been coated in pink. Bright, Pepto, Barbie pink.
Dale’s Wheels & Tires out of Fort Lauderdale also fitted it with a set of giant 24-inch Terra Series Gambe-1 wheels from Forgiato, the wheel company that’s showcasing the ride. The wheels feature black rims, pink hubs and spokes, and wear chunky 37-inch tires. We gather they’re mostly for looks, because we doubt this big G is going to be venturing off the highway like it was designed to.
The truck belongs (surprise surprise) to a South Florida hair stylist who goes by the name Ms. Chloe. Business must be good to afford the $225k vehicle and the customization work that apparently went into it. But when the time comes to sell it, we’re glad to report that the pink treatment is a wrap, and will hopefully come off clean enough. Then again, considering the outlandish colors in which Mercedes has offered this model direct from the factory, we can’t be at all sure that the color underneath is any less garish.
