When you think about things you wouldn’t want in your car, bears are probably right up there with kidnappers and murders.

Unfortunately for one woman in Connecticut, a bear is exactly what she found in her Subaru. As NBC Connecticut reports, Linda Morad was house-sitting for a friend when she saw the lights on her car going off.

Puzzled, she grabbed her phone and went to investigate. While she was probably expecting to find a burglar or car thief, she stumbled upon something very different.

Morad couldn’t exactly see what was in the car, so she called police once she started her noises coming from the Subaru. Officers arrived shortly thereafter and were probably surprised when they discovered a “full-sized bear” had managed to get into the car.

After taking some photos, the officers eventually opened on a door to let the bear out. They managed to take a peek inside and then informed Morad the situation wasn’t good.

Thinking the damage wouldn’t be too bad, Morad brushed it off and thought “I’ll clean it tomorrow.” However, a simple cleaning isn’t going to be enough as the bear positively demolished the interior. As you can see in the video, the bear clawed at the dashboard, destroyed the driver’s seat and damaged the overhead console.

It appears the bear managed to open the unlocked driver’s side door the vehicle and then climbed inside, possibly looking for food. However, the door shut behind the animal and it apparently became frantic once trapped inside.

Morad is working with her insurance company to get the damages covered but she’s surprisingly calm about the situation. As she told the station, “It’s like getting struck by lightning or hitting the lottery. How many times would it ever happen?”
