Earlier this week, BMW unveiled the new M5 Competition. The super sedan has 617 HP to play with and can sprint from 0 to 62mph (0-100km/h) in just 3.3 seconds.
Its supercar slaying abilities are backed up by 553 pound-feet (750 Nm) of torque, pushed to all four corners by the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Surely, an M5 cannot get any cooler than this, right? Wrong, because certain tuning companies have already rolled out significant updates for the powerful four-door model. One of them is Gorilla Performance, and their very own F90 has grown more hair on its chest – 720 horsepower, as per the description of the video that follows.

It’s not exactly known what the tuner did to put the new BMW M5 into beast mode, but we suspect they might have modified the ECU and other components such as the turbochargers. Unfortunately, the tuner didn’t disclose performance figures either, but we guess a 3-second 0-62 mph run is very likely.
In any case, it proved its credentials by taking on a Porsche 911 Turbo S in a drag race. The German sports car was also tuned to 630 HP, so let’s see how the upgraded BMW M5 did in a shoulder to shoulder run down the drag strip.
