On most cars, side windows are made from safety glass that’s designed to shatter into tiny pieces rather than shards that can put passengers at risk.
Unlike windshields, which are made from laminated glass, side windows are easier to crack, especially when bombarded by lots of tiny projectiles such as rocks.
That’s exactly what goes down in this video, where a pickup truck lays completely exposed to a Ford Mustang kicking up gravel.
While we don’t know all the details, it would seem that the people inside the truck were positioned there intentionally to capture footage of the Mustang sliding around in the dirt. As it turns out, it was a very bad idea to begin with.
The second the ‘Stang peels out, both side windows on the truck shatter instantly. We imagine the pony car must have thrown some large stones involved and not just pebbles, but either way, it’s hard to believe that the occupants of the vehicle didn’t see it coming.
Also, the fact that the video cuts off the second the driver realizes what happened to his car, pretty much tells the whole story. Usually, it is all fun and games until something serious/costly happens; we just hope that the shattered glass was the only damage sustained and that no one was hurt by it.
