A new Mustang Shelby GT500 is in the works and, if reports prove accurate, it will offer staggering performance typically exclusive to multi-million dollar hypercars.
As we wait for it to be unveiled, though, we stumbled on these images of a 2013 Boss 302 rolling around on a set of wheels that are sure to split opinions. Nevertheless, it looks pretty wild and would probably turn as many heads at a car show as the impending GT500.
Manufactured by CC Wheels, the new rims sport matte black spokes and gloss black edges. The multi-spoke design is reminiscent of the wire wheels used by a plethora of classics and would suit something like the E30 BMW 3-Series perfectly. We’re not so convinced of them being used by a muscle car like the Mustang, though.
The wheels aren’t the only intriguing thing about this Mustang. An aftermarket suspension that dramatically reduces the ride height and sees the carbon front spliter sitting just an inch off the ground has also been fitted. Not only does it look odd, but having a car this low is simply inconvenient if you want to drive it anywhere other than in and out of a perfectly smooth garage.
