Future models from Mercedes-Maybach will benefit from a plethora of advanced technologies to make them even more luxurious and desirable.
One of the first things Mercedes is working on is an advanced version of the brand’s currently Magic Body Control system. Speaking to Autocar, Maybach chief engineer Jurgen Weissinger said a new camera system will help the suspension better detect surface changes and adjust accordingly, making for an even smoother ride.
In Weissinger’s own words, the new system will allow drivers to “slide over the road.”
This isn’t the only thing Mercedes-Maybach is planning. Weissinger also revealed that the German manufacturer will create a new driver programme catered towards chauffeurs.
“We’re making a special drive programme, which means the gearchanges don’t happen too often so that the chauffeur can drive in a very comfortable, luxury way. This works without gearshifts and with maximum torque,” he said.
Most recently, Mercedes-Maybach introduced the Vision Ultimate Luxury concept. This high-riding vehicle has yet to be confirmed for production but Mercedes is willing to make it if there’s enough customer demand.
Either way, key elements from the Vision Ultimate Luxury are widely expected to make their way to the road in a Maybach-branded variant of the Mercedes-Benz GLS.
