Shortly after Mercedes-Benz unveiled the A-Class sedan (in LWB guise) at the Beijing Auto Show, X-Tomi Design rendered the compact saloon as a range-topping A45 AMG.

As we long expected, the A-Class sedan has an exterior design strikingly similar to the Concept A and adopts sharp taillights and headlights that work perfectly alongside other new Mercedes models, including the CLS.

For the first time, the A45 AMG will be sold in sedan and hatchback guises – and both will be exceptionally quick. Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers has previously confirmed that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo of the new A45 will easily deliver over 400 HP.

This will put specific output at over 200 HP per liter, eclipsing the 197 HP per liter provided by the McLaren Senna hypercar. Moreover, thanks to its exceptional grunt, the A45 AMG will sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in under 4 seconds and should be able to outperform the Audi RS3.

From a styling perspective, the A45 AMG sedan pictured borrows styling elements from the E63 and it does look pretty convincing. That being said, we’re not huge fans of the curvaceous front air intakes. While they suit the E63 and its round-ish headlights, the sharp lights of the A45 necessitate more aggressive shapes and lines.
