Accelerating faster on four wheels than on two is very difficult, especially when dealing with motorcycles that have very powerful engines – namely, anything with 600 cc and above.

Unfortunately for this Audi R8 V10, the new Ducati Panigale V4 is about as fast as stock motorbikes get, thanks to its 1,103 cc four-cylinder engine producing 214 PS (211 HP) at 13,000 rpm, as well as 124 Nm (94.5 lb-ft) of torque at 10,000 rpm. It also comes with Ducati’s Power Launch and Quick Shift systems as standard.

The Audi’s naturally aspirated V10 puts down 540 PS (532 HP) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. Its enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 3.5 seconds, and for a top speed of 320 km/h (198 mph). Nobody would ever dare call it slow.

Unfortunately, it weighs around nine times more than the bike, and thus has a serious disadvantage before even lining up next to it.

Once the flag dropped, the Audi got off to a pretty good start, pushing off all four wheels, whereas the rider had to mind the clutch. However, once the bike settled down, it was all over. This is the second time we’ve seen the new Panigale V4 whoop a really fast car in a straight line – its previous conquest was a BMW M760Li.
