Volvo’s parent company, Geely, is doing pretty good for itself in China. In fact, it’s doing so good that it recently introduced a new product – the Geely Kandi GLEagle K23.

Okay, that’s not the easiest of names, but then again, it doesn’t have an easy-to-digest design either. The two images shared by Xuehua depict an MPV-ish body with weirdly-shaped doors and an even weirder front end, plus a grille that makes the whole car look like it’s smiling a lot, eager to show those silver teeth.

Things don’t look that appealing when it comes to the rear end either, with the oddly-shaped tailgate and lighting units that go all the way up to the roof. The car has the Geely Auto badge on the left, and the K23 one on the right, and packs parking sensors incorporated into the rear bumper, and what appears to be a reversing camera, right above the license plate.

It appears that the Geely Kandi GLEagle K23 is about the same size as a Renault Zoe: 3,974mm (156.5in) long, 1,636mm (64.4in) wide and 1,625mm (64in) tall, with a 2,650mm (104.3in) long wheelbase.

And we didn’t refer to the battery powered French supermini for nothing, because this 1,200kg (2,646lbs) Chinese car is also electric. It uses a 65hp motor and can reach a top speed of 102km/h (63mph).

Geely has yet to release other specs, but we’ll tell you everything about it as soon as it celebrates its local premiere.
