The Mercedes-Benz 300SL, the very first iteration of the SL nameplate, has earned many great accolades throughout its rich, 64-year history. The production model came out in 1954, two years after the automaker first debuted the race car version.

So, it’s easy to imagine why any collector or classic car enthusiast with the proper means at his or her disposal would be inclined to purchase such a vehicle and even take it out from time to time.

It just so happens that former Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg, who won his sole title racing for Mercedes, owns a gorgeous white 300 SL Gullwing Coupe, with a dual tone red and beige interior.

Rosberg takes us through the whole process of starting the car, and also shows us how the steering wheel’s tilt-away column works, which was implemented in order to make it easier for the driver to get in.

He then proceeds to drive his 300 SL on the streets of Monaco, where he resides, while talking about the car’s soundtrack, how he needs to use the clutch as little as possible, and how he must wait for the oil temperature to reach a certain threshold.

Now, if you’re curious about how much this beauty would set you back, should you be lucky enough to find one that’s on the market, the answer is more than $2 million.
