Touring versions of the BMW E34 M5 have skyrocketed in value in recent years, helped from their rarity and the general growing appreciation for long-roof models in the petrolhead community.
So you’ll excuse us when we say that the E34 M5 Touring is probably all the car you’ll ever need as it combines the sweet handling balance of the saloon version with the practicality of, well, a wagon. It’s also the last hand-built car made by BMW M GmbH which adds a lot of points in our books.
BMW made just 891 examples of the E34 M5 Touring, none of which came officially in the US.
This particular example is a 1995 model, which was the last year of this generation M5 and comes with the bigger 3.8-liter straight-six engine and the six-speed manual gearbox –previous model years had a five-speed ‘box.
It was sold new in Germany before it was imported to Oregon by its second owner. This E34 M5 Touring is fully federalized and comes with all the correct paperwork, including a clean California title.
The car is finished in a rather gorgeous Oxford Green over a black Nappa leather interior. The paint isn’t perfect, with small chips on the front and a dent in the lower rear driver-side door, showing that the car remained in use and not locked up in a garage.
The listing over at Bring A Trailer says that the car also features a range of modifications that include a set of adjustable Ground Control coilovers, a front strut brace, a short shifter, and extra sound deadening.
It may not be as “special” as that M5 Electa that was sold for a stunning $120,000 last year but still it’s an Oxford Green E34 M5 Touring, meaning it’s pretty much perfect.
