The BMW 2800 CS (codenamed E9) features an iconic design that has withstood the test of time but Georgia’s Gas Motor Cars is offering a unique restomod based on the classic coupe.
Described as an “extremely well known” model within the BMW community, the vehicle has reportedly spent the past four years undergoing an extensive restoration and customization process. This allegedly cost the owner more than $50,000.
The dealer didn’t say much about the car, as there are “too many mods to list,” we can see the model largely retains its factory appearance as the only major giveaways are the HRE wheels and the slammed air suspension.
Bigger changes occur in the cabin as the interior has been completely redone with a heavy focus on customization. Drivers sit behind a large wooden steering wheel and find themselves looking at a new instrument cluster with metallic AutoMeter gauges.
The original center stack and console have been replaced by a custom unit which features a Kenwood receiver, additional gauges and a gaudy shifter. We can also alloy pedals, a distressed driver’s seat and a massive subwoofer in the trunk.
While the dealer was coy details, the car has a 2.8-liter engine which is connected to a five-speed manual transmission. The model has 104,311 miles on it and the dealership is asking $59,995 for the car.
