Rolls-Royce unveiled the all-new Cullinan yesterday morning and Almuraba reports a sheikh has already taken delivery of the model.
Details are limited but it appears the crossover was actually delivered ahead of the official unveiling as the site says the sheikh had to agree not to post pictures of the car until after its debut. Regardless, he reportedly paid 2.4 million Saudi Riyals ($639,876) to become one of the first Cullinan owners.
Billed as one of the most anticipated Rolls-Royce models of all time, the Cullinan is the company’s first crossover and it will compete with the Bentley Bentayga as well as the Land Rover Range Rover. While the Bentayga has been criticized for its less than stellar looks, the Cullinan successfully incorporates the Rolls-Royce styling philosophy into a crossover.
The classic Rolls-Royce design cues carryover to the cabin as drivers will find an opulent cabin full of premium leather upholstery, wood trim and metal accents. Two different rear seating configurations are available including a three-person Lounge Seat which can be folded down to create additional cargo space. Customers can also opt for individual rear seats which are separated by a center console which houses a drinks cabinet complete with champagne flutes, whisky glasses, a decanter and a refrigerator.
Despite the focus on old school luxury, the Cullinan comes packed with technology as it features a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system and a head-up display. The model also offers night vision assist, active cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert and a lane departure warning system.
Power is provided by a twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12 engine that produces 563 hp (420 kW / 570 PS) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The crossover also boasts a self-leveling air suspension and an all-wheel steering system to improve maneuverability.
