The Rolls-Royce Cullinan marks a dramatic shift for the automaker and it appears we’ve received one of the first photos of the highly-anticipated model.
Sent in by Carscoops reader Nehad, the image appears to be from a private showing of the brand’s first crossover. We can’t confirm its authenticity but everything seems to match up with previous spy photos and teaser images.
With that caveat out of the way, it appears the Cullinan will be unmistakably Rolls-Royce as it features a prominent grille and a familiar Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament. While the Phantom recently received a sleeker face as part of its redesign, it appears the Cullinan will stick with a more boxy design benefiting its status as a “high-riding vehicle.”
While we can only see the front of the model, it has rectangular headlights and large air intakes with floating chrome accents. The lower front bumper is also unique to the Cullinan and it appears to have a chromed center section or a metallic skid plate.
Additional styling details are hard to make out but the Cullinan has a pronounced hood like the rest of the Rolls-Royce lineup. We can also see the rear suicide doors are open but that’s about it.
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan will be unveiled on Thursday and the model promises to be one of the most luxurious crossovers ever created. It will ride on the aluminum spaceframe platform and become the first Rolls-Royce vehicle to be offered with all-wheel drive.
Specifications remain unconfirmed but the model is expected to have a twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12 engine that produces 563 hp (420 kW / 570 PS) and 663 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque.
