If you’re the type of person who would gladly point out to everyone else that your car isn’t actually a Crown Vic, but a Mercury Marauder, then maybe this is a purchase worth making.

The Marauder nameplate was revived for only two years in the early 2000s, with roughly 11,000 units being moved before Mercury decided to pull the plug. It utilized Ford’s Panther platform and was closely related to the Ford Crown Victoria, as well as the Mercury Grand Marquis.

Powering the Marauder is a 4.6-liter V8 , sending 302 HP (306 PS) to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission. Not exactly the fastest-shifting or most economical setup in the world, but that wasn’t much of an issue 15 years ago.

Now, if everything you’ve read so far is, for some reason, really tickling your buying bone, we reckon this low-mileage Marauder we found on eBay might actually interest you.

The ad states that it has just 91 miles (146 km) on the clock and that after it was driven to a garage directly from the dealership, it was never driven again. The seller also mentions that the fuel lines, gas tank and fuel injectors have been replaced, as have all fluids, and that everything else is original and in perfect working order.

Among the car’s features there is cruise control, power seats, air conditioning, power windows, a CD player, leather seats and more. In the end, though, you have to ask yourselves: is this Marauder really worth $29,900 when, for less than that, you can get a brand new Taurus?
