If you have money to burn and want to purchase a Lexus LC500 with many of its parts missing, we have just the car for you.
This LC500, currently listed for online auction by Copart, resides in South Carolina and has an estimated retail value of $103,433. However, in its current state, the car is worth significantly less than that as heaps of its parts have been stripped.
Just how this LC500 got to this sad state is unclear. It’s not uncommon for crashed vehicles to be stripped and sold for parts. However, the body of this LC500 doesn’t show any obvious signs of damage and is simply missing some of its most expensive parts, including the doors and windshield.
The ultimate project car?
The interior of the car is also a shell of its former self. While the seats are still in place, the dashboard has been removed alongside the gauge cluster, steering wheel, every single button, switch, and knob as well as the infotainment screen.
The listing doesn’t say how many miles the sports coupe has under its belt but it does confirm that the car is indeed the 5.0-liter V8 model rather than the less powerful hybrid variant.
At the time of writing, the car had yet to attract a bid. A minimum bid of $20,200 is required but that is below the seller’s unknown reserve.
It’s difficult to imagine what type of buyer might pick up a stripped car like this. It could be turned into a track monster for relatively little money but returning it back to stock for the street could cost a lot and would take a lot of time.
