Pretty much every one with a pulse knows that the Ford F-150 Raptor is one of the best hooning devices available today but throwing it in the Nurburgring and with Vaughn Gittin Jr sitting behind the wheel has to be seen.
The iconic track was not what Ford Performance’s people had in mind when they were designing the big Raptor but if there’s a will there’s a way.
The Baja-inspired pickup truck has proven again and again that not only it knows how to have fun but also how to impress with its sheer talent, even when driven hard on the tarmac.
Powered by Ford’s twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, the Raptor has 450hp and 510lb-ft of torque to play with and that’s enough to see it going sideways on the iconic German track. Combine this with the magic hands and feet of Vaughn Gittin Jr and the spectacle is truly memorable.
The beefy suspension might have been designed with off-road performance in mind but that doesn’t mean that it can’t keep under control the heavy Raptor on the tarmac.
Despite the narrow and unforgiving course, Ford’s official drifting talent had no problem of flicking the huge truck around Green Hell in spectacular fashion.
