While we wrote about this heavily-modified Porsche Boxster just a few days ago, there’s a good reason you’re seeing it again. Recently, Matt Farah got into the center-mounted driver’s seat to test the sports car on a circuit.
This Boxster started out life as a 2000 model but since then, has undergone a series of massive modifications which make it a track-oriented monster.
Rather than replacing the standard 2.7-liter flat-six engine, which would have been the easy thing to do, Bisimoto decided to strap on a pair of 52 mm Precision ball-bearing turbochargers. When running on E85, the car pumps out 420 hp to the rear wheels, a figure that’s more than enough considering the car weighs a mere 2500 lbs (1133 kg).
A very expensive, and unique, track toy.
Beyond working extensively on the car’s powertrain, the tuning company reworked the exterior and fitted a bespoke bodykit and components from the Porsche 911. Bright red paint, carbon fiber wheels and a massive rear wing then combine to create a package much crazier than any ‘RS’ badged model from Porsche’s GT division.
While all of these modifications sound good on paper, do they actually translate into something that’s enjoyable to drive? Watch Matt’s review to find out.
