Thanks to Andy Murray’s commitment regarding Jaguar’s first all-electric SUV, Panasonic Jaguar Racing driver and fellow WWF ambassador Nelson Piquet Jr got together with the tennis star to present him with his new electrified ride.
The Jaguar I-PACE is said to be able to achieve a 0-80% battery charge in just 85 minutes using DC charging, while also offering its user up to 298 miles (480 km) on a single charge. Once DC Rapid Chargers (100 kW) roll out across the UK, you’ll be able to charge your I-Pace to 80% in just 40 minutes.
“It’s important we all take small steps to live a more sustainable life and think about the actions we can make to look after our planet. This is one of the reasons I’m making the switch to driving Jaguar’s new all-electric I-PACE. It’s clean and safe, but also has the world class design and sports performance that suits my lifestyle,” said Murray.
Meanwhile, Piquet Jr went on to say that this car is proof of how you “don’t have to sacrifice power or performance when you switch to electric.”
In a straight line, the I-PACE’s 400 PS (395 HP) and 696 Nm (513 lb-ft) of torque can help it hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.8 seconds from a standstill, before maxing out at 200 km/h (124 mph).
UK buyers can order the Jaguar I-PACE now, for the price of £58,995, including government incentives.
