With everyone focusing on the recently launched 488 Pista, it’s easy to forget that Ferrari has an even more powerful horse in its stable: the 812 Superfast.

Okay, its name is a bit cheesy, but its specs are anything but. That’s because the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 puts out 800PS (789hp / 588kW) and 718Nm (530lb-ft) of torque that are channeled to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

From 0 to 100km/h (0-62mph), the Ferrari 812 Superfast is just as quick as the McLaren 720S, at 2.9 seconds, and it reaches the 200km/h (124mph) mark 7.9sec after setting off. Keep you right foot down for long enough, and the 1,630kg (3,594lbs) supercar will hit 340km/h (211mph).

With these specs, the Maranello-born machine is brave enough to challenge a lot of exotics in a straight line. However, the following video isn’t about a drag race, but rather some powersliding action.

Filmed on the Mugello Circuit, in Tuscany, Italy, the Ferrari 812 Superfast proved to be super-fun to drive, tackling some of the 14 turns of the 5.24km (3.26mi) long track very sideways.

The driver had a lot of fun putting the 812 through its paces, and it resulted in a short video that’s definitely worth watching.
