We’ve seen countless dashcam videos over the years but this one from Virginia had to be pretty terrifying for the driver of what appears to be a Nissan Versa sedan.

The footage was reportedly taken on I-66 and it starts by showing a fairly typical commute with a decent amount of traffic. After a few seconds, the Jeep Cherokee in front of the dashcam loses its left front wheel.

The front of the Jeep slams to the ground and we can see sparks flying from underneath the vehicle as the driver struggles to stay in control. Thankfully, they performed pretty admirably under the circumstances and managed to pull the Cherokee off to the side of the road. The driver then brings the car to halt and, presumably, begins to process what just happened.

While this was going on, the tire kept moving. It rolled all the way across the road where it hit a concrete divider and bounced into the lanes of oncoming traffic.

The tire narrowly misses an Audi but it continues to bounce and roll towards other vehicles. It eventually bounces up and hits the Nissan dead center in the grille.

Given the speeds involved, the tire continues back and smashes the hood of the car. It eventually hits the windshield and then goes flying into the air.

The clip ends shortly thereafter so there so it remains unclear where the tire landed and if it did any additional damage. Regardless, it already caused plenty of carnage and hopefully the Nissan driver wasn’t hurt.
