Remember the Mazda Vision Coupe concept? Of course you do, Mazda’s concept was so stunning, it even won the award for the most beautiful concept of the year and now showed up at the lawn of Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
Mazda’s tradition of simply gorgeous concepts lives on with the Vision Coupe, which features a really clean bodywork that conforms to the golden ratio of classic coupe design. The cabin is positioned towards the rear of the car giving the impression of the car moving forward when it’s stationary.
Following a tour in all major motor shows around the planet, the Mazda Vision Coupe concept was displayed under the Italian sun at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, letting the flowing lines of its bodywork come to life and wow spectators.
This simplistic approach continues inside, with the Vision Coupe concept featuring a strict four-seat configuration, an all-glass roof and a high center console acting as a divider.
Mazda never really announced what kind of powertrain lives under the seductive skin of the four-door coupe concept but this short video from NM2255 shows the car moving and getting loaded into a truck. The sound certainly resembles that of a four-cylinder engine, which should come as no surprise as Mazda is currently working on its SkyActiv powertrains.
While we may never see the Vision Coupe concept reaching production, we certainly hope that Mazda will use more of its design cues to its future models.
