The 2004 Mercedes-Benz SL350 may have been cool back in its day but now, the car looks boring, bland and uninspired. Fortunately, an SL350 owner in the UK has gone out of their way to ensure their car looks absolutely “jaw dropping.” It’s certainly that, although perhaps not in the way the current owner would like.
The Mercedes is currently listed for sale on eBay and at the time of writing, bidding had topped out at £4000 ($5311). We hope each and every bid placed was done so as a joke. If not, we’ve lost all faith in humanity.
The seller’s description says the SL350 “turns heads every where it goes. thousands have been spent on this car, to give it the appearance it has now.4new tyres have recently been fitted, along with very expensive alloy wheels.” Terrible grammar aside, the written description only offers a hint of the horrible modifications that have utterly ruined the car.
Viewed from the front, the car proudly sports no less than six chrome air intakes on the hood. What’s more, chrome has been placed across most of the fascia and a pair of Mercedes-Benz badges have even been incorporated into the front splitter.
Fortunately, things don’t get any better. Beyond featuring the aforementioned alloy wheels, the SL350 sports a range of chrome trimmings and a large Mercedes-Benz sticker on the door. What a clever way to ensure you don’t forget what car you’re driving.
At the rear, there is an AMG badge (of course there is…), a wing that appears to have been lifted from a Tokyo Drift-era Honda Civic, and even more chrome trim.
It not just the car’s exterior that makes it particularly unappealing. In fact, the cabin is just as bad and features cream leather, fake chrome dials, and a German flag badge on the steering wheel.
Mechanically, the car doesn’t have much going for it either as it has over 130,000 km (80,000 miles) on its engine.
