Automotive teaser campaigns have a tendency to be long drawn out affairs that quickly become boring after the first photo. This isn’t surprising as it’s hard to get excited about an image of a wheel, a photo of a taillight or a picture of a car underneath a sheet.

Chevrolet has acknowledged the obvious and taken a totally different approach which uses humor and a little bit of creative thinking.

In a Facebook post, the company posted three images of a model sporting a teal sports coat. At first glance this doesn’t make much sense but the company stated “The hottest look of the year. Coming soon.”

While a number of automakers actually offer clothing – including Lamborghini which sells an assortment of jackets for over $1,000 – Chevrolet’s teaser makes plenty of sense when you call the coat a blazer.

The all-new model has been undergoing testing for awhile and the crossover will slot in between the Equinox and the Traverse. In effect, it should be roughly the same size as the GMC Acadia.

While previous Blazers were based on truck platforms, the all-new model which be underpinned by the short-wheelbase C1XX platform. The architecture is used on a handful of other crossovers including the Acadia and Cadillac XT5.

Chevrolet hasn’t said much about the model but powertrains could carryover from the Acadia. If this occurs, the base engine could be a 2.5-liter four-cylinder which produces 193 hp (143 kW / 196 PS) and 188 lb-ft (255 Nm) of torque. The crossover may also be offered with a 3.6-liter V6 engine developing 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 271 lb-ft (373 Nm) of torque.
