We’ve seen a number of odd automotive auctions in our time but this 2005 Ford GT, currently for sale on Copart, is perhaps the weirdest of them all.

What you’re looking at is a pile of junk that used to be Ford’s most desirable mid-engine supercar. We’re not sure if someone is simply taking the piss in listing this destroyed GT for sale or if someone actually thinks they can make some money from the destroyed parts.

Either way, the whole thing is pretty stupid if you ask us. The destroyed parts, which includes elements of the exhaust system, at least one brake caliper and parts of the engine, have essentially no value to anyone. Rather than sitting on an auction lot, these parts could actually be recycled and be put to good use.

The listing doesn’t offer any details as to how a once-functioning GT was transformed from a Ferrari-beater to scrap. However, it’s obvious that it was involved in a crash and subsequently destroyed by fire.

Unsurprisingly, the listing hasn’t attracted any bids. If someone does actually buy the wreckage, it would be beyond morbid. While it’s unclear if anyone was injured or killed in this GT, it’s obvious that it caused some pain and suffering to someone, even if it was simply financial hurt.
