As the initial production date for the Tesla Semi is fast approaching, more sightings of the electric truck emerge.
The latest video was released by the California-based automaker on Twitter, and shows the Semi on the road to Santa Rosa while pulling a large trailer.
Despite looking like a CGI, the video is very real, as Tesla themselves confirmed, which want to revolutionize the trucking business with the zero-emission Semi.
The initial specs announced by the company could indeed help them do so, as the base model boasts a range of 300 miles (480 km) and the more expensive version ups that to 500 miles (800 km).

Elon Musk recently came forward and added another 100 miles (161km) to the latter’s range, announcing that it can travel for almost 600 miles (966 km) between charges. The brand’s founder thus responded to a statement made by Daimler’s chief of the truck division, Martin Daum, who said the Semi “defies the laws of physics and is passing us by if true”.
It remains to be seen whether the electric truck is indeed “defying the laws of physics”, but in the meantime, development is far from being completed. The first units should hit the assembly lines in 2019, although given Tesla’s history with new launches, we would take that with a grain of salt.
