A new teaser of the Volvo S60 has been released prior to the vehicle’s global premiere on June 20.

This latest clip shows the car painted in a seductive shade of red. While it doesn’t reveal any design details we didn’t already know about the new car, it’s sure to get you excited for what the Swedish marque has up its sleeve.

Visually, the S60 looks strikingly similar to the S90 and features Thor’s hammer LED headlights, an aggressive grille (painted gloss black on this example) and angular fog light surrounds. The previous teaser also provided a glimpse of the car’s large sunroof and sharkfin antenna.

As you’d expect, Volvo will sell the S60 in a plethora of specifications, the most powerful and expensive of which will be dubbed the ‘Polestar Engineered’.

This variant will use the firm’s T8 Twin Engine paired to an electric motor for a total of 409 hp and 494 lb-ft of torque.

The flexibility of the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform on which the S60 is based will allow Volvo to also fit a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder in 147 hp and 187 hp guises. Elsewhere, they’ll be an entry-level T5 petrol engine and a 2.0-liter T6 petrol with 305 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Two other plug-in hybrids that should slot below the Polestar Engineered model are also on the cards.

Volvo has announced that it will build the S60 at its factory in Ridgeville, South Carolina.
