This previous-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate isn’t just good for school runs or packing an apartment’s worth of furniture from IKEA, but also at blowing your mind (and ears) on a straight line.
You see, it’s a tuned version of the already stupidly fast E63 AMG. Even in factory form, it benefits from a number of improvements over the regular models, including a sonorous 5.5-liter V8 engine pumping out 525 or 577 horses, in the AMG E63 and AMG E63 S versions.
As if that wasn’t enough, this particular model paid a visit to an undisclosed tuning company, where it received a new turbocharger, and upgraded engine control unit and air filter. The result is a staggering 900 horsepower, which is actually more than a stock Lamborghini Aventador S or Ferrari 812 Superfast.

Except for the new wheels, the exterior of the W212 Mercedes-AMG E63 Estate remains untouched. But all it takes is for the owner to push the ignition button to uncover its secret identity, as that’s when the exhaust system starts making music.
The V8 symphony reaches its peak under heavy acceleration, as demonstrated on film below. Only this short video wasn’t shot on public roads, but on what appears to be an airfield somewhere in Germany, at a drag racing event.
Aided by the massive output produced by the tuned engine, the car ran the 1/2 mile in around 18 seconds, reaching speeds in excess of 260km/h (162mph), to the delight of the crowd, which was taken by surprise when the driver lifted their foot off the brake and stepped on the gas.
