To be fair, the term sports sedan is being used way too loosely. Sure, it’s segment appropriate, and nameplates such as the BMW 3-Series or Audi A4 can definitely feel sporty, even regular spec versions. But, in order to truly put the Sport in ‘Sports Sedan’, you need something like this.

The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 might be the most hardcore four-door compact executive sedan to ever leave Europe, and at its heart lies a supercharged 5.0-liter V8, making 600 PS (591 HP).

In a straight line, it will hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.3 seconds, before maxing out at 200 mph (321 km/h). According to Jaguar, this car is the “pinnacle of the world’s performance sedans.”

Features include a revised suspension, lower ride height, an electronic active differential, carbon ceramic brakes, all-wheel drive, Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and gloss carbon fiber trim. Customers can also opt for the Track Pack which leaves you with just two carbon fiber racing seats, while adding a rear roll cage.

As you can imagine, this car is way faster than your run of the mill BMW M3 or Audi RS4, especially around a track – the Project 8 actually beat the Giulia QV’s time on the Nurburgring by a whooping 11 seconds. The Jaguar’s time was 7 minutes and 21.23 seconds.

According to carspotter MaRaf Supercars Passion, who uploaded these images to Autogespot, this is the very first XE SV Project 8 spotted away from the Nurburgring. The location is Forte dei Marmi, Italy, and the car might have been there to attend some Jaguar event.
