The new A7 Sportback aims to offer a more stylish alternative to the usual saloon executives, including its sibling, the A6. However the new Audi also scores high on practicality, as well as cutting-edge tech features.
The design is typical Audi, meaning it doesn’t break any molds, but at the same time it doesn’t have to, as the new A7 manages to look fresher and cleaner than its predecessor. The wide grille mixes beautifully with the new LED headlights, while the rear end looks pretty impressive and subtle at the same time.
Inside you get all the latest bells and whistles from Audi, including the new dual-screen MMI infotainment system along with the latest Virtual Cockpit display for the instrument cluster. Having a hatchback also means that you can load big stuff with ease with the rear seats folded.
No less than 39 driver assistance systems are available with the A7, divided in three packages: Park Assist, City Assist and Tour Assist. Choose all them and Audi’s latest four-door coupe will show up armed with five radar sensors, a laser scanner, a front camera, four 360-degree cameras and no less than 12 ultrasonic sensors.
All available powertrains, both petrol and diesel ones, are paired to the company’s new 48-volt electrical architecture, rendering them as mild-hybrids. Petrol 55 TFSI models get a 3.0-liter V6 with 340hp and 368lb-ft (500Nm) of torque while the diesel models feature a 3.0-liter V6 TDI with either 227hp and 369lb-ft (500Nm) or 282hp and 457lb-ft (620Nm).
All versions send their power to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system and are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
So, is the Audi A7 Sportback the great grand tourer the German car maker promises to be? Let’s see what Carwow has to say about it in their latest video review.
