The fourth generation Suzuki Jimny received a warm welcome from the internet last month, when the Japanese company unveiled it.
The boxy styling isn’t the only thing to have been significantly updated, as the cabin is entirely new, and brings features such as an infotainment system and climate control, without sacrificing the utilitarian feel.
More importantly, its body-on-frame construction, part-time all-wheel drive system, long-travel suspension and low-range option should make it a true warrior once the asphalt ends. However, before finding out if it’s any good to drive, in the real world and on challenging terrains, we’ve been recently treated to one of the first renderings.

It depicts the all-new Suzuki Jimny in a convertible body style. XTomi imagined it with its roof chopped off behind the A pillars, a rollover bar installed where the B pillars should have been, and a soft top for when the weather goes bad.
Now, despite the fact that all of its predecessors were offered as convertibles at some point, we’re not sure if Suzuki has anything similar in store for the latest iteration. But with this niche constantly expanding, we would be more surprised if the carmaker didn’t give it a go.
In the meantime, we’re waiting for the Japanese brand to announce more details on the new Jimny, including international availability and pricing.
