Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is working on a handful of new models including the high-performance 004S and track-focused 004CS, but the company’s latest car is a bit different.
Instead of being all about performance and racing, the SCG 006 will be a two-seat sports car with retro styling. The company was coy on details, but the model appears to draw inspiration from a handful of sports cars from the 1960’s including the Shelby Daytona and Ferrari 275 GTB.
Thanks to these design influences, the SCG 006 looks rather promising in these early images. Key highlights a classic front fascia with rounded curves and recessed headlights. Moving further back, we can see wire wheels, a side-exiting exhaust and a rounded spoiler.
While the car isn’t totally focused on performance, it will still have a pretty impressive engine under the hood. Detailed specifications weren’t released, but Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus confirmed the model will have a front-mounted engine that develops 650 hp (484 kW / 659 PS). It will be connected to either a six-speed manual or a “paddle rear transaxle.”
The first images of the car depict the Spyder variant, but the 006 will also be offered as a coupe. The company also has plans for a GT4 variant in the future.
A lot of questions remain about the car, but the model will likely be pretty expensive as even the base 004S starts at $400,000. That’s not exactly pocket change, but the 006 will be a bargain compared to some versions of the Ferrari 275 which have been known to be worth more than $10 million.
