Mitsubishi announced the UK pricing and range details of the 2019 Outlander PHEV, which is available to customers now.
For 2019, Mitsubishi has replaced the 119hp (121PS) 2.0-liter petrol engine with a more powerful and bigger 133hp (135PS) 2.4-liter unit. In addition, the rear electric motor is also more powerful, adding 93hp (95PS) into the mix while the battery pack now measures 13.8kWh in capacity. The front electric motor continues to offer 80hp (82PS).
The powertrain revisions result to a combined fuel economy of 139mpg UK (2l/100km), per the latest WLTP regulations. CO2 emissions are rated at 46g/km, while the pure electric range is 28 miles (45km) combined.
Mitsubishi has also revised the damper settings for better low-speed ride and added a new ‘Sport’ mode that sharpens the throttle response and tightens the electric all-wheel drive system. The steering rack is also updated while the front brake rotors are now bigger in diameter.
The interior now features new, more comfortable and supportive front seats, new switchgear and a revised instrument cluster. The rear passengers get their own ventilation vents while the dashboard features more conveniently placed USB ports.
On the outside, the revisions include a redesigned front grille with honeycomb mesh, a new front bumper extension and redesigned headlamps. The rear also gets a new bumper design, as well as a large roof spoiler. A set of two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels complete the exterior updates.
Prices for the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV start from £34,255, including the £2,500 government incentive, and can reach up to £39,100 for the range-topping 4hs model trim.
