The Brooklands was arguably the most stylish version of the Arnage, but when Bentley introduced the Mulsanne in 2009, the company decided to ditch the coupe variant.

Ares Design has decided to correct this oversight by creating a stylish two-door version of the Mulsanne that looks like it came straight from the factory. The company has been offering the car for awhile, but the first American-bound model has been delivered to a client during Monterey Car Week.

Featuring an eye-catching two-tone paint job, the Mulsanne Coupe is bound to draw attention thanks to is combination of exclusivity and stylish design. Of course, the transformation wasn’t a simple process as sedan’s roof, doors and rear pillars had to be removed and replaced by new components which are more fitting of a coupe.

Among the highlights are new aluminum rear quarter panels and a roof and extended front doors made of carbon fiber. The model has also been outfitted with bespoke windows and custom chrome surrounds that echo those used on the standard Mulsanne.

To complete the transformation, the interior has been carefully modified to echo the sedan. Changes include the addition of new front seats and updated trim panels which, according to the Press blurb, ” suit the new coupe body style.”

Besides the styling changes, the Mulsanne Coupe has been made sportier than the sedan. The use of carbon fiber and aluminum allows the model to drop 992 lbs (450 kg) from its overall weight, while an optimized ECU enables the 6.75-liter V8 to produce more than 591 hp (441 kW / 600 PS) and 811 lb-ft (1100 Nm) of torque. The car has also been equipped with a sportier suspension that reduces the ride height by 20 mm (0.7 inches).

The Mulsanne Coupe is being built in an “ultra-low volume run” to genuine exclusivity and only one additional model will be built this year. The build process takes approximately 24 weeks, depending on the level of customization, and pricing starts at €395,000 ($459,484 / £357,713) – and that’s excluding the price of the Mulsanne donor car.
