Imagine you placed your order for the latest supercar. You’ve been patiently awaiting delivery. It finally arrives, you enjoy it for a few dozen miles, and then it burns to a crisp.
That’s what happened to one supercar enthusiast in Germany, whose Ford GT perished in a fire after covering less than 50 kilometers (31 miles), we were mortified to report, just a couple of months ago. But the Blue Oval apparently didn’t waste any time in setting it right.
The Canadian-built supercar belonged to an individual who goes by the Instagram handle muc.collector. The Munich-based collector has apparently owned multiple Ferraris, McLarens, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, Porsches, even Paganis. He also has a Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R, and apparently took delivery of his Ford GT late in May. But within weeks, a fire erupted in the bay of the high-strung 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. He thankfully escaped unscathed, but the car did not.
Now barely more than two months later, he’s received its replacement – in the very same colors scheme of silver with black stripes and wheels. We don’t have the particulars of who covered the replacement cost – we’re sure it was fully insured – but it seems evident that Dearborn bumped him back up to the top of the list instead of making him wait for another slot to open up.
