Last month, a member of the JL Wrangler Forums spotted a new Wrangler Moab special edition on the back of a car hauler. Since then, the site has done some digging and discovered additional information about the upcoming model.

According to an ordering guide, the special edition is based on the four-door Wrangler Sahara and will cost an additional $10,905 (£8,541 / €9,557). That reportedly pushes the base price of the special edition to a staggering $51,200 ($40,161 / €44,935).  That’s a lot of money, but the package is pretty extensive as it comes with an assortment of upgrades.

Starting with the exterior, the Wrangler Moab will be equipped with LED headlights, a ventilated hood and a body-color grille with black accents. The model also features a steel front bumper, Mopar rock rails and “Moab” hood decals. Rounding out the exterior changes are black badges, a body-color hard top and 17-inch aluminum wheels with a black finish.

While the exterior emphasizes ruggedness, the cabin focuses on comfort. As part of this mission, the model comes equipped with leather seats and an Alpine premium audio system. Other additions include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a keyless entry system and Mopar floor mats.

In the tech department, the Wrangler Moab has an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system with a one year subscription to the SiriusXM Guardian service. It allows owners to remotely start and unlock the vehicle as well as locate it using GPS. The special edition also comes with an assortment of driver assistance systems including blind spot assist, rear park assist and rear cross path detection.

Power is provided by a familiar 3.6-liter V6 engine producing 285 hp (212 kW / 289 PS) and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which sends power to a Selec-Trac four-wheel drive system. The model also has a limited slip rear differential.

The site says the package is already available to order, so expect an official announcement shortly.
