Earlier this month, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE spilled the beans on its interior, and now we get to check it out closer in a new set of images.

Posted by CarNewsChina, which claims to have spotted a prototype in Beijing, they provide a better look into the cockpit of the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 fighter.

The giant 12.3-inch display is part of the package, flanked by a couple of air vents on each side. The central console has four more air vents, of smaller size, and houses the climate control buttons, among others.

The three-spoke steering wheel provides access to a number of different functions, including the paired phone, cruise control and audio system.

Another novelty is the addition of grab handles between the two front seats reminiscent of the old M-Class. This is where the MBUX touchpad controller is located as well.

Elsewhere, this appears to be a higher-spec grade, which features a Burmester premium sound system, wireless charging pad for phones and tablets, wood inserts in the dashboard, aluminum trim, leather surfaces with contrast stitching, and electrically operated front seats with memory function.

Moreover, the rear seats can be adjusted in a number of different ways, as they are electrically operated, too.

Mercedes-Benz still hasn’t provided an official date for the unveiling of the new generation GLE, but it’s expected to make its way to the 2018 Paris Auto Show, for its world premiere.

From there, it should launch in Europe in the coming months, and in North America and other international markets probably next year.
