Racing his buddy in the white Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG didn’t end well for the driver of this McLaren 720S, who was rear-ended by a Chevrolet pickup truck.

The accident took place on the highway between Pattaya and Bangkok, in Thailand, reports MSN, and was captured on dashcam.

The Chevy pickup was allegedly travelling at approximately 110 km/h (68 mph), when the McLaren 720S in front hit the brakes hard.

The Macca can obviously stop really fast, and it did, but the 29-year old driver of the truck, identified as Weerapong Thongchom, couldn’t make it in time. Thus, he swerved left, his Chevy went sideways and clipped the British supercar. It also hit a Toyota, before coming to a full stop.

Damages were minor on all three vehicles involved in the accident, but the 720S was apparently towed away from the scene.

By the way, there are reportedly only three 720S McLarens in Thailand, and this one is currently off the streets due to that incident.

“I could not have chosen a more valuable car to crash into”, said Thongchom. “I feel very bad about it and will have to let the insurance company handle the process. I didn’t estimate the conditions on the road correctly”, he added, while admitting to have been “travelling between 100 and 120 km/h (62-75 mph)” right before the impact.

The owner of the British supercar claimed to have paid around 30 million baht for it, which equals to almost $900,000 at today’s exchange rates, presumably due to the high taxation.
