Customers ready to place an order for a 2019 Golf R will be offered to choose between 40 custom order colors through VW’s new Spektrum Program, including the Viper Green Metallic, which made its debut with the Euro-spec Scirocco Mk3 and later featured on the Lamborghini Huracan.

Other colors include Nogaro Blue, Caribbean Green, Violet Touch Metallic and Copper Orange Metallic. VW will charge you $2,500 for one of its custom colors.

VW’s new Spektrum Program will please long-time enthusiasts of the brand, with color options such as the Deep Blue Pearl from the R32 Mk4 and Mk5, the Ginster Yellow from the 1997 Driver’s Edition GTI and the Mars Red from the original GTI Mk1.

The 40 new custom colors come in addition to the just five standard color options of the 2019 VW Golf R. Go for one of the custom options and the build and delivery time will be approximately two to four months, says VW.

The 2019 VW Golf R is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 292hp and 280lb-ft of torque. As before, a six-speed manual transmission is offered as standard, with the seven-speed dual-clutch unit being an option. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via VW’s 4Motion system.
