Whether it’s The General Lee Charger or the Knight Industries Two Thousand Trans Am, the world has seen its fair share of cars performing ridiculous jumps through the air.
Those, however, were on celluloid. In the real world, we can only imagine the speed this Audi Q7 was carrying as it lifted off halfway through the intersection. While the driver did stick the landing, it did not look effortless at all – it was probably quite scary, which is understandable.
Based on the description of the video, the footage was taken in Ekaterinburg, one of Russia’s largest cities. This also means that roads can get quite congested, so driving like a maniac seems like a really bad idea to us. Besides, there are so many things that could have gone wrong.
For instance, there could have been somebody on that crosswalk, or running onto the crosswalk before the driver could even slow down. Then there’s the possibility of losing control upon landing, although the latest-generation Q7 is a pretty stable SUV – but still, not designed to go airborne.
Anyway, at least the clip didn’t end in a crash, which is still pretty lucky if you ask us. We doubt local authorities will be able to identify the vehicle due to the camera angle that shows only its profile, so no license plate number is available.
