What can be more luxurious than an old VW sedan designed in the earlier part of the 1980s? The answer would be pretty much any other 4-door sedan built sometime after the mid-90s.

Of course, this isn’t just any Jetta, as you can see. In fact, somebody made very sure that it was going to stand out among other vehicles, which it most definitely does, even if not entirely in a completely positive way.

We say “completely” because we found the image on a Reddit thread, which suggests that at least somebody out there took one look at this car and said to themselves: “yeah, that’s pretty awesome right there.” Since the person who posted the pic had the user name “u/Matengineer2”, maybe they just appreciated the engineering that went into it.

Also, the fact that you can probably stretch your legs in that backseat even more than you could in something like a Phaeton, is pretty nice, as long as you have a need for that. But otherwise, it mostly seems like the builder went through a lot of trouble just to give an old car new purpose.

Still, what do you think about this extra-large, slightly awkward-looking V-Dub? Maybe if you also add some new suspension components, it could actually make for a surprisingly comfortable ride.
