The family car offering has never been as diverse as today, with vehicles coming in pretty much all shapes and sizes, but do you know which are the best of the best?
A ‘Top 5’ video put together by AutoTrader might answer this question and could allow viewers to better choose their next means of transport.
From urban crossovers to friendly 7-seaters, the film has them all, with a clear focus on durability, practicality, reliability and running costs, among others. And last, but definitely not least, it has to satisfy a range of different budgets, too.
The fifth position in AutoTrader’s chart is reserved for the Renault Captur. This subcompact SUV, which builds upon the Clio, adding a slightly larger body, increased ground clearance and more space inside, should appeal to consumers, as it offers “chunky off-roader styling” with “supermini maneuverability”.

If the Renault Captur seems too small to suit your needs, then you’re better off with the new Peugeot 3008. It looks great, so it’s definitely going to turn a lot of heads as you drive by, and it’s also comfortable and practical. And, best of all, it has grown out of its MPV suit into a funky-styled SUV.
By offering tons of space inside, along with competitive pricing and affordable running costs, the Skoda Superb has always been one of the smart choices in the D segment, so it’s no wonder that it’s included in the video, in the Estate body style.
Skoda has actually nailed two places in this Top 5, as the silver medal goes to the Kodiaq. The brand’s flagship SUV offers seating for up to 7 passengers, is well equipped, quiet and relaxing on the road, and also more affordable than most of its rivals.
As for the big winner, well, let’s just say this is a huge surprise, for two good reasons: the sales decline of such cars in recent years, and the actual model. But we don’t want to spoil it for you, so you’ll have to scroll down and hit the play button to find out who the winner is.
