Volkswagen has donated an all-new 2019 Arteon SEL Premium R-Line to charity during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The annual Charity Drawing allows select local charities to sell tickets and keep 100% of the proceeds.
The event took place this weekend, with comedian and former late-night host (and avid petrolhead) Jay Leno conducting proceedings at the awards ramp.
“We are thrilled that the Arteon has helped raise money for high-quality health care and trauma services through this charity drawing,” said VW North America boss Hinrich J. Woebcken. “Volkswagen is proud to have worked with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and the Natividad Foundation, in their commitment to raising the bar for local health care.”
The Arteon is based on VW’s MQB platform and is currently the automaker’s flagship model in the U.S. It features a stylish fastback design and is powered by a 268 HP (272 PS) 2.0-liter TSI engine, paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The company’s 4Motion all-wheel drive is also available as an option.
Available trim levels include the SE, SEL and the SEL Premium, like this exact model here. Standard features on U.S. spec models include 18-inch alloys, full LED headlights, Front Assist, Side Assist, Rear Traffic Alert and DCC chassis control, while the automaker’s Digital Cockpit display, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, massaging driver’s seat and Dynaudio sound system are optional.
