Luxury pickups remain popular with consumers and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is looking to appeal to these buyers with the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12 special edition.
Designed to combine luxury, technology and off-road prowess, the Ram 1500 Rebel 12 has an upgraded interior that includes leather upholstery, heated front seats and metal speaker grilles with Radar Red anodized accents. The truck also comes equipped with a Uconnect 4C infotainment system which features a 12-inch touchscreen display and GPS navigation.
Last but not least, buyers will find a Harman Kardon premium audio system with 19 speakers and a 900-watt amplifier. The audio system also has a 10-inch subwoofer and active noise cancellation technology.
Since the special edition is based on the Ram 1500 Rebel, it has a factory-lift kit, skid plates and tow hooks. Other off-road focused goodies include Bilstein shocks, a locking rear differential and 33-inch tires.
The Ram 1500 Rebel 12 will go into production later this year and pricing will start at $46,990 – excluding a $1,695 destination. The special edition package will be available with all traditional Rebel powertrain options.
Speaking of the latter, the Ram 1500 Rebel comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 305 hp (224 kW / 309 PS) and 269 lb-ft (364 Nm) of torque. The engine has eTorque technology and this can add an extra 90 lb-ft (122 Nm) of torque for short periods of time.
The truck can also be equipped with a more powerful 5.7-liter HEMI V8 which churns out 395 hp (291 kW / 400 PS) and 410 lb-ft (556 Nm) of torque.
There’s also a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with eTorque technology. The powertrain is still rated at 395 hp (291 kW / 400 PS) and 410 lb-ft (556 Nm) of torque, but its belt-driven motor generator reduces fuel consumption and can deliver up to 130 lb-ft (176 Nm) of torque for short periods of time.
