Become A Real-Life Bond Villain With An Original Jaguar C-X75 Spectre Stunt Car

The Jaguar C-X75 might have never entered production but at least we got to see it in action, and more specifically in the James Bond Spectre film. The British supercar took the role of the villain’s car against Bond’s Aston Martin DB10, and now one of the original stunt cars has come up for sale.

The project was arguably ahead of its time, created to celebrate Jaguar’s 75 year anniversary and featuring a crazy complex plug-in hybrid system that combined electric motors with gas turbines. Jaguar even made a few prototypes, which ditched the turbines for a turbocharged and supercharged 1.6-liter engine for a combined output of around 900hp.

If the Jaguar C-X75 was given the green light for production, it would have gone against the Holy Trinity of hypercars, which included the McLaren P1, the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder.

The canned project returned for one last time in the big screen as Mr. Hinx’s ride. The stunt cars created for the movie shared little with previous prototypes as they were based on a tubular chassis with composite body panels attached, created by Williams Advanced Engineering.

In addition, the stunt cars featured the same suspension parts with a Porsche 911 GT3 rally car as they needed the suspension to have a longer travel in order to thrash the cars properly in front of the camera. The stunt cars were also fitted with a hydraulic handbrake for obvious reasons.

For the powertrain, the solution was pretty simple; instead of a complex hybrid powertrain, the C-X75 stunt cars featured the brand’s supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine paired to a competition-spec sequential transmission.

With only four stunt cars created for the film, this blue example right here will certainly demand a hefty amount of cash from its next owner. It’s being offered by Kaaimans International, which won’t tell its price until you ask them nicely.
