Be it against some other powerful machines or the clock, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was subjected to countless drag races ever since it broke cover last year, and the majority didn’t do it any justice.
In fact, the American muscle car, which used to be one of the fastest production vehicles on the planet when it was still being put together, was smoked not only by the marvelous piece of engineering known as the McLaren 720S, but by the lesser 570S, too.
The Super Series model is 278 hp (282 PS / 210 kW) less powerful than the top-form Demon, and slower to 62 mph (100 km/h), on paper at least.

Now, that’s an entirely different topic, because the video that you’re about to see shows the Dodge Demon against a couple of custom rides, which have been prepped for drag racing. But how it did against the two is not that important, because what we’re interested in here is how quick it completed the 1/4-mile run, and the answer is 9.83 seconds.
So, there you have it, folks, the Dodge Demon is a 10-second car, in a nearly stock form, as the one seen on film below is said to have used some different tires than the one coming with the Demon Crate.
The video proves that it may be hard to achieve the 9.65 seconds for the 1/4-mile run posted by Dodge, but not impossible. So, we reckon that on a perfect day, someone, somewhere, will be able to slash a couple of tenths of a second from the already impressive 9.83sec time achieved by this example.
