A seven-year-old boy in India has been lucky to walk away without serious injuries after being run over by an inattentive driver in the Chembur area of Mumbai earlier this week.
CCTV footage shows the boy playing football with a group of friends on a side street. A woman can then be seen entering her car while two of the boys tussle for the ball right next to her.
One of the boys then crouches down to tie his shoelace. At the same moment, the driver reverses a few feet before putting her car in drive, exiting the parking spot, and hitting and running over the young seven-year-old.
Remarkably, the boy wasn’t hit by any of the vehicle’s tires and was able to come out of the ordeal relatively unscathed. He then runs over to his friends, presumably in pain and shock, before being picked up and carried away by a friend.
Perhaps just as incredible as the fact that he survived is that the driver seemingly had no idea what had happened and failed to stop.
Footage of the incident quickly emerged on social media in India and went viral, The Daily Mail reports.
It remains unclear if authorities are looking into the incident.
